In ETEC 510, you are both an author, and an editor, of the Design wiki. This is the third iteration of the Design wiki, and as such, this year (2009), you have the opportunity to both engage with the work of students from previous runs of ETEC510 (2007, 2008), as well as create a new entry within the Media/Education/Design wiki to build our collaborative knowledge base. You are responsible for authoring, collaboratively or solo, one major entry under one of the topics listed on the Main page (e.g., Globalization, Instructional Design). You will be an active editor of your own collaborative or solo entries. You will also edit/comment on entries written by your ETEC 510 colleagues, both from last year's cohort and from this year's cohort. If you want to work on the wiki entry by yourself, make sure to put "solo" beside your name. If you have any questions about what might be an appropriate topic for the Design Wiki, feel free to consult your instructor or make a posting to the Design Wiki forum within WebCT.

You may also want to consider playing some role in helping to build coherence across some of the major topics by writing an introductory page that links together the sub-topics that have been authored by other students. As the Design Wiki grows, it will be increasingly important to develop top-level views to assist readers in navigating the sub-topics.

Please refer to the Design Wiki FAQ and the Design Wiki Assignment in WebCT for more information about these activities.
